The Mathematics Learning Support Centre

The Centre is based in the School of Mathematics and exists to offer help with basic mathematical techniques to all students, but particularly those who need help with the techniques associated with the transition from school to university. Additionally, students on mathematics programmes are welcome to seek help with problems arising in their first-year modules, but students should be made aware that the module lecturer, those who staff the tutorials, and personal tutors may be in a better position to help and should be consulted first.

Help with problems arising in second, third and fourth year modules should not normally be sought in the Centre. The module lecturer is the appropriate person to contact. Where problems arise due to gaps in prior knowledge Centre staff may be willing to help but their priority is always first-year students.

Further information about opening times and facilities can be found from the Mathematics Learning Support Centre site.
